About the Project

Little Learners or Nanhe Taare is a social initiative geared towards providing domestic workers with the knowledge and skills they require to be effective child caregivers. Our multipronged approach focuses on awareness raising, education, and developing robust networks that can help domestic workers nurture young children in the most holistic way possible. In this vein, we are in the process of developing a comprehensive handbook that details the best practices to ensure holistic cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth of children. We are also launching a podcast series that delves into the nature versus nurture debate, early learning milestones, and other concepts that explore child development. 

Our Little Leaders Certification program will utilize the information in the handbook as well as the support of experts in training domestic workers in Mumbai to equip them with the skills they need to foster holistic growth in young children. The individuals who successfully complete this program will be listed in a database for prospective employers who may be interested in soliciting their services. And finally, we will be setting up a creche with our partners, The Giving Tree, for individuals at the organization and outside of it to safely place their child in the care of caregivers equipped with the knowledge of holistic development of children.
